BZPStuck

BZPSTUCK

A young man stands warily in his bedroom, feeling vaguely perturbed by the sense that someone is watching him. Today is his twenty-first birthday, but unlike some less than respectable young pixellated gentleman he has already bequeathed himself a name and does not need your nor anyone else's assistance in the matter

Enter Name

You're....you're not very smart, are you?

Alright Wise-Ass, What is it?

Your name is Raymond Adams, a vaguely familiar cypher that for some reason feels more than a little bit like gross mary-su style antics, but you're just way too spectacular at everything for that to be true.

==>

 No but seriously. Now that we know who it is that we are in ways almost insidious both inhabiting and voyeuristically viewing simultaneously, perhaps we should explore some of your INTERESTS. Your somewhat disheveled room gives us our first clue that you are perhaps NOT AS ORGANIZED as one would expect a rational human adult to be. Relics of a great SUGAR BINGE are evident, as are copious amounts of cloth articles meant to be adorned about your FRAIL BODY. Laying about are various hints as to your myriad interests that are SOMEWHAT EMBARRASSING to bring up in polite conversation.

Still, you might not be at a complete loss, for at your feet lies a tool of GREAT ILLUSTRATIVE POWER. When the mood compels you, you enjoy using it to create visual utopias and vistas that can be quite pleasant to view. That mood compels you very rarely. You are a COLLECTOR and a FAN, an ARTIST and a SLOB, and often, you enjoy PLAYING GAMES. Tonight you will play a very special game with a group of friends you like a lot...and perhaps, just once, you might manage to do it without getting distracted by pretty pictures on the Internet.

Or not. I mean did you see that crazy cat? What are with those Antics!!!

What will you do?

Ray: Play with those Bionicles

What, these old things? I mean yeah, sure, when you were ten it was fun to pretend they were fighting these legendary battles with all kinds of magical abilities and elemental blasts, but you are a collector now, you work under a different and far more pretentious set of ideals about what should and should not be done with items such as these.

YES!!! IT IS your one of a kind hand-crafted and ever so lovely ALIEN TEE! You made this and have worn it nearly every day of your life since. Of course, you don't really think little green men are out there or visiting Earth or anything. That would be ridiculous.

But you want to believe. Oh so badly. Sometimes you suspect that if just once you could find some real proof of another world filled with life, of something totally outside of humanity's understanding, you could finally snap out of your all too often habit of ignoring important and worthy goals for trivial things like shooting wily pixels who get way too hot and bothered and must be taken care of by any means necessary. As long as those means are through some kind of handheld button manipulation device.

Okay, this is making you just a little too happy.

WHERE IS YOUR COMPUTER?????

Monday, January 24, 2011

Ray: Look for computer on other side of room

Well I mean, okay, I guess you could look around a bit before blowing your top. If you HAVE to.

 ==>

You view the other side of your room, which holds some remnants from other past obsessions as well as several INCREDIBLE ARTISTIC ENDEAVORS. You see your ELEVATED SLEEPING PLATFORM which manages to save just a little less space than the constant expenditure of energy climbing up and down it is worth. You also notice several spare CAPTCHA CARDS on the ground. You always forget to put those back in your deck and they usually end up either here or all wrinkled up from being put in the wash with your pants.

Wait, Captcha cards. Suddenly this mystery becomes a whole lot clearer.

 Ray: Captchalogue spare card

You CAPTCHALOGUE one of the spare cards with your MOOD RING MODUS. It tucks itself neatly into your SYLLADEX. Boy, it sure is a good thing things are always this simple, huh? Luckily only some kind of mentally deficient ape good for nothing but menial chores and nutrients upon expiration would find it difficult to parse exactly what you just said and did.

Oh look, there's your computer tower. Your Mood Ring Modus tends to snap things around you up whenever you feel any kind of strong emotion, and getting them out again is a matter of recreating that emotion. You must have picked up the PC earlier during some happy moment. Looks like you also managed to pick up the Tablet while you were raging about the missing PC. Good job hero. This adventure's bound to be finished in no time!

Ray: Check out that friggin awesome dragon

 Ah yes....a relic from your younger days. Before you dreampt of flying amongst the stars, you dreampt of a different sort of flight. Many nights you would awake in a cold sweat from seeing yourself reigning above some far flung dark kingdom, a silent predator and killer of the night who flew the skies searching for his next victim, wings like leather but silent as a cat's.

What many people fail to realize is that cats in fact have wings, but they are so fast and so quiet we cannot perceive them at any level. Many of the world's modern mysteries would in fact find themselves quite solved were people to realize this simple and astounding fact.

 ==>

 Yeah okay this all just complete bullshit.

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Ray: Hook up that computer, stat!

Beep Boop!

You quickly deploy your computing devices through various emotional theatrics in a quick and uneventful matter. It sure is nice when everything is simple.

 ==>
Desktop perfection. You're very proud to say you made this one all by yourself. If you had a fridge in here you would print it out and put it up there for all to see.

Ray: Alright, NOW visit BZP

Alright, was there really any chance this WASN'T going to happen?

SB: UGHH RAY please tell me you got it
IR: Uhhh...I got it.
IR: What is it.
SB: This mindlessly vacuous game. ID will not stop bothering me about it. 'I will fire you forever if you don't play' this and 'screw the forums' that.
SB: I swear its like the end of the world or something for him.
IR: Uh....so go play Halo or whatever with him man what's the deal.
SB: You really have no earthly idea what it is I'm referring to do you.
SB: This new game Lego is working on. SBuild.
SB: ID made a topic about it in ISC. Lego's decided that a video-game is a more constructive use of childrens' time than, you know, Legos. Brilliantly intuitive.
SB: They sent a bunch of us beta copies to test; you were on the list, man
IR: Oh...huh. Maybe I should go check the mail then?
IR: So I guess you have a copy? Why don't you want to play it?
SB: Bluh. I've got no time for video-game nonsense, you know? I've got chords to play, brah.
SB: A world to save, you dig? ;)
IR: Haha man still doing this music can save the world thing huh. Tell me when was the spaceship carrying your messiahs with matching haircuts supposed to journey 'across the universe' to save us again?
SB: 'Any time at all,' man. Any time at all. ;)
SB: Okay actually I just suck at video games and he knows it. Which is exactly why he won't get off my back about it. Bastard of a friend.
IR: Dig it
IR: Alright well I'ma go see if this game has come
SB: All right. Best just to let it be for the moment if not. I'll be waiting.

STUPID LOUSY RUST SUCKING ROBOTS!!!!!

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Ray: Examine Robot

Ugh. No thanks. You've gotten more than enough personal time with these mechanical behemoths to last you lifetimes. Your BROTHER likes to tinker with these stupid things but when they invariably go nuts he junks them out here in your hallway. I mean yeah, sure, having a robotic maid who can massage your feet is a great dream and all but does that mean he has the right to put that robot with deathspikes where you were planning on placing your tender foot?

Asimov sure wouldn't think so.

 ==>
Sometimes you think he secretly wants to BE a robot. Coldly calculating, estimating the relative value of a human life to that of a squash in its ever present, ever logical mission. To gaze upon the world with eyes a beautiful shade of infrared, to hold in your cold graspers your egg-shaped female companion's various manipulators and protuberances. What a dumb dream.

Seriously these things give you the creeps. Sometimes late at night you catch yourself listening for the catching of the door on an iron foot, for the slow scrape of a rusty bolt twisting itself loose, coming for YOU.

You shudder and gratefully move on.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

==>

You abscond from that autorobotic display and scoot yourself into the LIVING ROOM. Aptly named for being the place in your house where people tend to spend the least amount of their lives. To your left is a Chess board where you and your brother engage in a friendly competition. Neither of you makes a move until the other one leaves the room and vice-versa. This allows you to realize just how stupid what you did was and correct it without anyone being the wiser when you sacrifice your queen for a pawn then just stuff them both in your drooling mouth.

 ==>

 You continue into the room. On the couch is your brother's MOBILE PHONE. That and this robotic monstrosity here tell you he's got to be somewhere near by. Since it seems likely you plan on continuing this extensive and almost excruciating unnecessary tour of your own household for the benefit of nobody but yourself, you might as well clarify where everything is. Directly in front of you is the front door, and beyond that, the mailbox. To your right, the kitchen, and to your left is your brother's room, but there is no way you plan on stepping into that cave of horrors. The last time you tried that it took a whole bottle of Nyquil just to calm you down enough to start screaming.

So, hero, what will you do?

Monday, January 10, 2011

==> ==> Stop procrastinating on everything and open the dumb door already.

Yeah, it probably is time to get this show on the road. I mean, seriously your schedule of wasting time is absolutely packed and if you don't start -RIGHT NOW- you may never waste it all. What then??

In any case you snag your brother's phone and log into your Pesterchum account so you can keep your friends up to date on every single thought and whim that occurs to you. You know they wouldn't have it any other way. A simple wave of revulsion at these horrid robots around you is all it takes to snap it up.

 ==>

This is it. No more dilly-dallying, no more horsing around. No more stupid robots or captchalogue shenanigans. We are doing it man.

We are making it hapen.

SB: damnit Ray I don't mean to be flipping all out on you but there's some kind of dilemma happening it's like all Tom Clancy up in this
SB: except with fewer run-on sentences and generally superior prose

SB: Anyway that's irrelevant
IR: yeah I got it
IR: I braved lightning for this game I want you to know
IR: freaking lightning like crazy dangerous

SB: Ugh
SB: Sorry, okay
SB: It's gotten a little more complex

SB: But basically
SB: okay you know how ID's been all sly and weird when talking about this game the past few weeks?
SB: I mean like
SB: more than usual
IR: uhhh I never even heard of this game till today
IR: but okay
SB: Well
SB: I tell him that I've got his blasted game and that I'm going to set up as his server player and he says some crap about 'Oh wait, Ray's in trouble so help him get ready for the meteors to come and destroy Oklahoma'
SB: And I'm like wtf
SB: And I say 'I mean I know Ray and Pat are the only good things in Oklahoma but shouldn't we abscond with them prior to your decimating the landscape?'
SB: And then he starts going in some circles about how the whole world is going to be destroyed by some giant-ass meteroites and we have to play the game to save the universe and some Stan Lee 'with great power comes with great responsibility' bullcrap and I'm freaking out a tiny little bit here
SB: And then he stone cold signs off and won't andrew his phone or texts
SB: I mean answer
SB: fuck
SB: Anyway dude, the thing is
SB: I thought he was just drunk
SB: But I checked Google Hubble just now
SB: And sure enough, I swear to gog, there are a crapload of asteroids just winging our way like we're a little white triangle made of pixels and out of bullets

IR: we must destroy the meteors! with nuclear weapons! and probably I will have to sacrifice myself but it'll be okay in the end
IR: because the earth will be saved
IR: so don't sweat it
SB: All right Ray that was very funny and congrats on your impeccable sense of humour but I kind of don't want you to die
SB: To be honest, I'm not all that interested in dying right now either

Who's this douchebag?

user posted image

Look at this guy. Giant purple sunglasses, long hair, leather jacket...who does he think he is, a 1960s rock and roller? The sea foam green TELECASTER and the VOX AMPLIFIER sitting conspicuously behind him complete the ensemble. Who besides the Beatles plays Vox amps these days, anyway?

Brian May doesn't count; he's too great to be criticized. The Edge doesn't count either; he's too terrible to be considered.

Christ, it seems mere proximity to this fellow clouds your senses with an overarching sense of pretentiousness.

Name this douchebag

user posted image

No, no; the twat insists he's not 'pretentious' - he merely has impeccable taste. It's not his fault he's extremely discerning and only accepts art of the finest calibur. Jegus. I mean, Jesus.

The twat's feelings are hurt!

Is your name 'sensitive pussy' then?

user posted image

No!

Your name is ANDREW ARTHUR and you object to this self-insertion fantasy on grounds of literary principle. You can, however, look over this upon grounds of 'fun.' You like fun a lot - life is too short to not enjoy it, you feel. And as for things in life that you enjoy, few are more expansively cathartic as MUSIC. You live for music, peppering your daily dialogue with lyrical quotations and humming or whistling incessantly to yourself. From the orchestral grandeur of classical to the home-grown rawness of folk and from the syncopated improvisations of jazz to the show-stopping awe of musical theatre, you absorb it all. But most of all, you hold an intense fondness for GOOD OLD-FASHIONED ROCK AND ROLL. Few things move you as deeply as the searing leads of a FENDER TELECASTER, the bluesy crunch of a STRATOCASTER, the heavy punch of a GIBSON LES PAUL, or the energized rhythm of a nice, hollow-bodied GRETSCH. You live and breath the guitar.

Which is not to say you love all tunes. You live by the mantra 'There are no bad genres, just some very bad songs.' You are a bit of a SNOB about musical art and although you bear no ill-will in your heart, sometimes you act a little CONDESCENDING towards people who listen to that over-processed, autotuned POP TRASH on the radio these days. You find yourself offended by vapid, fake music, which you feel robs the art form of its most important part: the real, human soul and emotion. If a song has neither, it's not worth your time.

Unless it's enjoyably melodic fun that is still played with actual talent. Which is why you like AC/DC.

But that's irrelevant.

So yes, perhaps sometimes you can be a PRETENTIOUS TWAT. You can also be EXCEEDINGLY VERBOSE. Your speech is a chimerical mashup of Shakespearean phrasings, Victorian precision, and carefree, modern vernacular. This is probably a result of your VORACIOUS READING. You were an English Major in college and you cannot break your addiction to fine literature, which approaches the level of your MUSICAL SNOBBERY.

But aside from these idiosyncrasies, which you play up around your understanding friends for purposes of IRONY, you're a very relaxed person. As said, you believe in FUN for everybody. You tend to be very 'chill,' believing firmly that all problems will work out eventually if you just keep on truckin' forward. Life's a miracle, and JOHN LENNON was right when he said love was all we need. To that end, your main goal in life is spreading the great love you feel toward so many things - through music, humour, trust, and more. And you have so many friends, you never feel you'll be short of opportunity!

You are kind of a hippie.

The only exceptions to this carefree attitude comes when you are VERY STRESSED. You tend to keep your calm when your friends are in trouble, but when you are very ANNOYED you sometimes FLIP OUT A LITTLE. This is where your usual deadpan-facetious sense of humour gets a little more biting and you can kind of seem like a LITTLE BIT OF A JERK.

You don't mean to come across that way.

Andrew: Smash that guitar like you're Peter Townshend!

user posted image

Why on earth would you want to do that, brah? This SEA FOAM GREEN FENDER TELECASTER is your baby - the most expensive thing you've ever bought in your whole life. Good thing you didn't pay full price! You nabbed this fine piece of ash (actually maple and alder) when you worked at a Music & Arts Center and got a steep employee discount. Your current job as a TECHNICAL WRITER is not as rad, but it pays far better.

While Pete Townshend is an incredible songwriter, his auto-destructive-art schtick isn't your cup of tea. You prefer chai anyway. But there are other things you can do with your guitar.

[S] Andrew: Do that thing you do

Link, if the embedding doesn't work

Aw yeah bitches. This is what you were born to do. Your fingers race across the fretboard as you lose yourself in the release of good old ROCK AND ROLL.

Your biggest hobby is playing and recording music from your home - mixing your guitar and voice together and providing bass, drums, and other sounds from the synthesizer in your closet to make beautiful music.

Andrew: Play with your transforming robot doll.

Andrew: check out that sweet couch

Aw yeah, look at this bigass green couch. You've had this couch since college - before that it was your friend's for about a decade. The thing has stains and tears in its fabric where the stuffing now pokes out - but the couch is so freaking comfortable, you'd never dream of getting rid of it until it fell apart. Indeed, you sleep on the couch, as you're still saving up for a bed.

God, you are so poor.

ID: That's the game I was telling you about. You need to stop slacking and install it!
SB: Oh f'real?

SB: but you know how I am about the videogamin' games, man
SB: you know it's not my scene
ID: Like I said, this is easy.
ID: The game lets you play around with someone's life as if it were LEGO bricks.
ID: Pretty straightforward.
